Building on the insights from our October 2023 CHORUS Forum on “Supporting Accessibility,” this forum will delve deeper into the recent advancements, ongoing challenges, and future directions in making research and scholarly publications more accessible to all, including those with disabilities. Accessibility in research publications is not just an ethical imperative but increasingly a legal and regulatory requirement.

What Has Changed Since October 2023?

Since the 2023 forum, several initiatives and improvements have emerged across the publishing and research communities. Increased awareness around accessibility has driven meaningful changes in both policy implementation and technological solutions. We will review new developments in accessibility standards, compliance strategies, and digital tools that enhance usability for all users, especially those with visual, auditory, cognitive, and motor impairments.
