The session will focus on the use of trust markers by scholarly publishers to confirm the identity of authors, referees, and editors in the peer review process. In particular, attention will focus on current best practices in the scholarly publishing community and the challenges inherent in balancing the prevention of misconduct with a positive experience for users. Furthermore, it will highlight measures that publishers are taking to ensure the integrity of its publications and the leadership position it is taking – both independently and in partnership with other stakeholders – in the efforts to tackle this threat to publishing integrity.
